Plant Magic: Only Earth

With the change in time, our needs and preferences are changing. And when it comes to leading a healthier life, this change has helped us bring in more varieties of products that are good for our bodies. Plant-based beverages are one such change that is a subject of rising popularity and innovation globally. It has been found that such innovations deliver sensory experiences that match the taste profile of people, allowing you to accept and make a shift toward plant-based beverages more easily.

Also, this has been possible because of technological innovation, in addition to increased investments and partnerships, which together helps in scaling up the availability and accessibility of such diversifications.

Only Earth, a plant-based beverage brand is one such initiative that is helping people make conscious consumption choices. The brand has been sharing anecdotes on how a lifestyle shift and what you consume can have an impact on the environment. It further reiterates that plant-based alternatives are not only for consumers who have shifted to veganism but also, in general, have a large impact on our planet. Kunal Mutha, founder, Only Earth believes that plant-based nutrition is set to change the landscape of how we eat to something more sustainable. Only Earth is based out of Singapore and is manufactured in Thailand and Sri Lanka. The sole vision of the brainchild of Kunal is to help people eat right for a better tomorrow.

For Kunal, entrepreneurship happened naturally with extensive experience from the well-established Mohan Mutha Group. Born and brought up in Chennai, Kunal completed his engineering and then he moved to the UK to pursue a Master’s of Entrepreneurship at the University of Nottingham. In 2013, he began his career by leading the diversification of the group into manufacturing as CEO of MM Polytech. He set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility of flexible packaging material in Sricity, India. The company catered to multinational clients like Mondelez, Perfetti, Pepsico and exported large volumes to over 20 countries. In 2019, the company was acquired by global packaging major, Huhtamaki.

His passion for a vegan lifestyle, concern about climate change and animal cruelty lead him to venture into a Plant-based food and beverage business. He is also the Founder and Managing Director of Naturise Consumer Products. The company is headquartered in Singapore and plans to establish its flagship brand Only Earth as a leading player in the plant-based sector.

“The current dependency on meat and dairy is not sustainable. We can’t dedicate 83% of our farmland to livestock which provides only 18% of our calories. We can’t continue rearing cattle, which globally consume a quantity of food equal to the caloric needs of 8.7 billion people (our population was 7.8 billion as of March 2021)! This is where a plant-based diet comes in. With plant-based nutrition, you get a meal with a much lower carbon footprint without compromising on nutrition,” informs Kunal.

One of the ways we can fight this at an individual level is to opt for plant-based nutrition. Compared to traditional diets, they have a smaller carbon footprint and can help preserve our planet!

Kunal, who is also a budding vegan athlete and has completed 3 Ironman Triathlons in New Zealand, Italy, and Sri Lanka feels that one can start combating climate change by reducing your dependence on dairy. Switching to Only Earth and savouring the goodness of planet-friendly, plant-based milk is a smart move that will be beneficial in the long run.

Only Earth is currently available in 3 variants: Coconut, Oats and Almond of 1L and 250ml packs, on Amazon, Qtrove, Vegan Dukan, and many more.
