Known as the wine capital of the country, Nashik has certainly earned itself a place in the hearts of all those who love their liquid courage. Well, they are certainly going to love it a whole lot more, now that there is The Liquor Embassy there. Yes, you heard it right!
Situated on the bustling Gangapur Road is Liquor Embassy, a stunning space that has a wine lounge on the ground floor and a resto-bar on the first floor. Designed by Misbah Kapadia, founder, and creator of Design Konstruct, the first thing that strikes you as you enter the wine lounge is the oversized façade with lit panels that bind the entire space together. “We made use of the double-height vertical space in combination with the oversized façade highlighted by lit panels to bind the entire space together. The classic round-shaped light fixture added a flame too. Owing to the open, oversized design, the area just seems larger than it is, giving a sense of vertical space,” says Misbah.
She further states that they were inspired by the Art deco theme style as their idea was to have a classic luxury statement-making space. You understand what she is talking about as you admire the striking colour palette of black, gold, and blue with subtle hints of mustard and green. The flooring in black and white finishes the sophisticated look. Misbah adds that the idea was to imbue a sense of luxury to the space. “The classic monochrome flooring in black and white tile along with a stylish colour palette of black, gold, blue with a hint of mustard and greens binds the space together giving a luxurious feel to the place,” she says.
The other thing that makes that ‘aah’ escape from your mouth is the gorgeous display of liquor bottles on horizontal or suspended shelves. Beautifully adorned with a vertical gold jaali, the blue-dyed veneer makes the display even more eye-catching.
The resto-bar above the wine lounge has an ambiance that exudes a warm feeling. The deep blue entrance door has a classic panelled style finish and the lobby boasts of a custom-made hostess desk, complete with a chandelier and a healthy dose of green. Wall lamps adorn the restaurant and the chesterfield sofa seating and a mix of mustard and green chairs lend it a sophisticated charm. Misbah admits that it was a challenge to have the liquor store, wine lounge, and resto-bar as part of the same space yet have their own essence. “It was a challenge which we have proudly accomplished, along with getting all the intricate details right,” she states.
